# getStakeMinimumDelegation

> Returns the minimum number of lamports required to delegate a stake account.

Source: https://docs.constant-k.com/rpc/http/getstakeminimumdelegation/

`getStakeMinimumDelegation` returns the runtime-enforced floor on how small a stake delegation can be. Any `DelegateStake` instruction that would leave a stake account below this amount is rejected by the Stake program.

Wallets and staking UIs typically call it before submitting a delegate instruction, validating the amount client-side instead of round-tripping a doomed transaction.

- Transport: HTTP, JSON-RPC 2.0 `POST` to `https://rpc-newyork.constant-k.com/?api-key=YOUR_API_KEY` (New York) or `https://rpc-frankfurt.constant-k.com/?api-key=YOUR_API_KEY` (Frankfurt) or `https://rpc-amsterdam.constant-k.com/?api-key=YOUR_API_KEY` (Amsterdam). The key also works as an `x-api-key` header.

  }'
```
## Notes
- This is a runtime constant, currently 1 SOL (1,000,000,000 lamports), applied network-wide rather than varying per validator or epoch.
