Product Names
constant-k product names, the equivalent product name at other Solana providers, and the wire protocol and client library each one uses.
This page maps each constant-k product to what other providers call the equivalent service. Provider names were read from each provider's published documentation on 20 September 2026.
aRPC, anticipatory RPC, is constant-k's name for pre-execution transaction streaming. No other provider uses the term. Data Stages sets out the stage each product delivers at, and The word "decoded" records which provider attaches that word to which stage.
Product names
| constant-k | In protocol terms | Helius | Triton One | Jito | QuickNode |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solana RPC | Solana JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTPS, and the Solana PubSub subscriptions over WSS. See WebSockets. | Solana RPC for HTTP, LaserStream WebSocket for subscriptions | No product name: "standard Solana JSON-RPC and WebSocket APIs". Whirligig is the WebSocket front end. | no equivalent published | RPC and WebSocket endpoints |
| Kaldera | geyser.Geyser/Subscribe, the Yellowstone gRPC service, after execution | LaserStream gRPC | Dragon's Mouth | no equivalent published | Solana gRPC, described as Yellowstone-compatible Geyser gRPC |
| Turbo Kaldera (aRPC) | geyser.Geyser/SubscribeDeshred, decoded pre-execution transactions, with no execution metadata | Preprocessed Transactions, served over a preprocessedSubscribe WebSocket rather than gRPC | Deshred transactions, the same SubscribeDeshred method on Dragon's Mouth, marked beta | no equivalent published | no equivalent published |
| ShredPrism | shredstream.ShredstreamProxy/SubscribeEntries, serialized entries, unfiltered | no equivalent published: Shred Delivery carries shreds, not reassembled entries | no equivalent published: Shred Streaming carries shreds, not reassembled entries | ShredStream | no equivalent published |
| ShredQuasar | Raw shreds as UDP datagrams, pushed to a registered destination, unfiltered | Shred Delivery | Shred Streaming, delivered over multicast rather than to a unicast destination | no equivalent published | no equivalent published |
| Staked sends | sendTransaction over stake-weighted QoS, selected by hostname | Helius Sender, whose scope also covers sendBundle and multi-path routing | Cascade, whose scope also covers routing and retry advice | Low Latency Transaction Send, whose scope also covers bundles | Smart Transactions, where stake routing is a feature rather than a separately named endpoint |
- Jito's documentation carries a sunset notice on ShredStream, with the shutdown stated as 5 September 2026 and DoubleZero Edge named as the migration path.
- Helius Preconfirmations and Triton Preconfs emit at the block producer, before shreds exist, which is a stage earlier than Turbo Kaldera. Fumarole is a persistent-subscriber form of Dragon's Mouth with its own client package. constant-k publishes no equivalent to either.
Protocols and clients
| constant-k | Wire protocol | Client library | A client written for another provider's equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana RPC | JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTPS, and Solana PubSub over WSS | Any Solana SDK | Works unchanged once the endpoint URL carries your API key |
| Kaldera | Yellowstone gRPC over HTTP/2 with TLS | @triton-one/yellowstone-grpc, or yellowstone-grpc-client with yellowstone-grpc-proto. Versions are in Clients. | A Yellowstone client works unchanged, with the endpoint and x-token changed. A provider SDK that wraps the same protocol, such as helius-laserstream, keeps its own connection options. |
| Turbo Kaldera (aRPC) | Yellowstone gRPC over HTTP/2 with TLS | The same packages as Kaldera | A Dragon's Mouth SubscribeDeshred client works unchanged. A preprocessedSubscribe WebSocket client does not: different protocol. |
| ShredPrism | The Jito ShredStream interface, gRPC over HTTP/2 with TLS | A client generated from shredstream.proto in jito-labs/mev-protos | A Jito ShredStream SubscribeEntries client works with the endpoint and x-token changed, and with no local proxy or keypair. A raw-shred UDP receiver reassembles shreds itself, a step this feed has already done. |
| Staked sends | JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTPS | Any Solana SDK | Works unchanged on the staked hostname. sendBundle is not served. |
The Yellowstone protocol files Kaldera runs are listed on the Kaldera page, and their source is rpcpool/yellowstone-grpc.
Terms
| Words for the same thing | What it names |
|---|---|
| Geyser plugin, Geyser interface, Yellowstone, Yellowstone gRPC, Dragon's Mouth, LaserStream, Solana gRPC | The geyser.Geyser gRPC service defined in yellowstone-grpc, which Kaldera serves |
| gRPC streaming, streaming API, subscription stream | A server-streaming gRPC call held open for the life of the subscription |
| pre-execution, deshredded, preprocessed, decoded transactions, aRPC | Decoded pre-execution transactions: read out of shreds before the bank runs them, so without fees, logs, balance changes or status. aRPC is constant-k's term. |
| preconfirmation, preconf | A signal emitted by the block producer before shreds exist. Earlier than pre-execution, and a different source. |
| shreds, raw shreds, shred stream | The leader's erasure-coded block fragments, before reassembly. The receiver reassembles them itself. |
| serialized entries, entry stream | Entries that arrive reassembled, as bytes the reader deserializes. ShredPrism's payload. |
| SWQoS, stake-weighted QoS, staked connection, staked endpoint | Leader inbound capacity reserved for connections from staked validators |
